Description

An international, multi-disciplinary building science organisation, BRE has been making a positive difference in the built environment since 1921, improving buildings and infrastructure through our targeted application of research and knowledge generation. Owned by a charity called the BRE Trust, we deliver one of the largest programmes of built environment education and research for the public good, with a complete range of advisory, testing, certification, commissioned research and training services.  We also use our cutting-edge collaborative research to provide a range of digital products, services, standards and qualifications to bring about positive change in the global built environment.

Our interests and activities are broad ranging.  We work with governments to shape workable policies to ensure that the sector is fit for purpose, whilst developing meaningful products and services to help a range of businesses (both in the UK and overseas) to thrive, operationally and commercially, whilst responding and adapting to regulatory change.  A commitment to innovation is in our corporate DNA and it’s vital that we continue to attract exceptional people to the business, who can conduct pioneering world class research for the good of the sector and Society as a whole.

We've invested heavily in recent years in a suite of online and digital tools aimed at improving environmental health, supporting sustainability and reducing environmental impact and we are committed to continued investment in this area, confident that digital and data products that transcend geographies will enable the sectors we serve to thrive commercially, whilst remaining compliant.  Continued innovation in this area will be critical to delivering profitable growth in our digital revenue streams and has the potential to transform our own business model; this role will bring together internal technology provision and externally focused product development into a single business unit for the first time as we too, seek to work differently; working more efficiently and at pace, without compromising on the quality or integrity of our work.

We’re looking for a commercial, inspiring and energetic digital and data leader with a track record of underpinning commercial success through the definition and delivery of technology, product and service roadmaps that deliver an exceptional customer experience.  Regardless of your industry background, you’ll bring knowledge of how to deliver products that transcend geographical boundaries and resonate with target markets, enabling you to create an ecosystem of products and services for both internal and external use that enable easy access to trusted data and better ways of working.

This will be a high-profile role with considerable influence and impact at an important time in our development and growth.  If this sounds like the challenge for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
